Raven
Corvus corax
 

 

Description:  22” - 27”.  Large, shiny black bird with a thick black bill.  Wedge-shaped tail.

Range:  From Arctic to Nicaragua, Greenland, Eurasia and North Africa. 

Habitat:  Deserts, mountains, canyons, dense forests, Pacific Coast beaches. 

Diet:  Omnivorous.  Plant matter, insects, carrion. 

Nesting:   Nest of twigs and vines, lined with grasses, animal hair on a high tree.  Lays four to six eggs. 

General Information:  Tail is wedge-shaped, while the crow has a flat tail.
