Anasacanthus quadrifidus

This woody shrub is also known as hummingbird bush or flame acanthus.  It can reach 4-6 feet tall.  The red to orange tube-shaped flowers, which are a favorite of hummingbirds, bloom in summer and fall.  It can be found in canyons and foothills of the Sonoran Desert and Mexico.
