Fairy Duster
Calliandra eriophylla

This shrub is found in deserts or arid grasslands from southern California and southwestern New Mexico into northwestern Mexico. The flowers resemble pinkish puffs and bloom from February to May. During periods of drought, the leaves wilt, but recover quickly after it rains.

Native American Usage

The leaves and stems were used medicinally after childbirth.
