Bladderpod
Isomeris arborea

This evergreen shrub, also known as burro fat, can be found among brush and washes in alkaline soil in California and Baja California from the western edge of the desert to the coast. It can reach a height of 8 feet.  The yellow flowers bloom year round. The 1-2 inch long pods are a green gray color.

Native American Usage

The Native Americans roasted and ate the pods. Flowers were eaten boiled or sun baked.
