Island Alum Root
Heuchera maxima

This perennial is native to bluffs and canyons of the Channel Islands, off the coast of California.  The shiny leaves are heart-shaped.  It has tine, bell-shaped green , white or pinkish flowers and hang from the end of tall stalks.  The flowers bloom from February to April.  Despite looking very delicate, this plant is drought tolerant.
